Summary:
As a research assistant at NanoCell, you will play a role in cutting-edge research projects focused on developing innovative therapies to fight cancer. NanoCell is a biotech start-up located at the Utrecht Science Park. We develop novel non-viral in vivo CAR-T therapies by making use of lipid nanoparticles as gene delivery vehicles.
The role
We are looking for a research assistant to support the preclinical research and development team. In this role you will be responsible for performing primary cell isolation, cell transfections, (T)-cell culture, functional assays and flow cytometry. Experience with animal experimentation, and experiment on animals (Art. 9 /13f2) certification is preferred.
As research associate at NanoCell you will combine your technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to design, execute, and analyse experiments under supervision of scientific personnel. You will work within a young, international team of talented scientists, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including molecular biology, process, analytical and preclinical development, to translate scientific discoveries into therapeutic solutions.
Who are we looking for:
- HBO (BSc) or MSc with a background in life sciences, cell biology, immunology
- Motivated and talented researcher, with affinity for setting up new assays and exploring novel research avenues.
- Minimal 1 year experience in hands on laboratory work (including internships)
- Experience with in vitro cell based functional assays, cell culture, ELISA
- Experience with flow cytometry is preferred
- Experiment on Animals (art 13f2 / 9) certification and experience with animal experimentation is preferred
- Fluent in English
- Living in the Netherlands and in possession of a valid working permit
- Organized, strong in data reporting and keeping lab notes
- Candidates with a PhD background are not considered for this position
